Adjust Audio

Change the volume, peak normalize, fade in and out, or make stereo mono, and hear it before you save.

Your files stay on your device.

Drop a recording to adjust it

MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A, AAC, AIFF and WebM recordings, or MP4, MOV and WebM videos, up to 2 GB.

Recordings are processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and your original is never changed.

What Adjust changes

  • Peak normalize, not loudness: Peak normalize moves the loudest sample to the level you choose (−1 dBFS by default). It does not measure perceived loudness (LUFS), so two normalized files can still sound differently loud.
  • Nothing is limited: If a gain would push the loudest part past full scale, the page says it may clip. Nothing is compressed or limited behind your back: choose less gain, or Peak normalize.
  • Fades and channels: Fades use a smooth curve with no click at either end. Mix to mono averages left and right; Left or Right keeps one side. The result then has one channel.

Frequently asked questions

Can I hear it before I save?

Yes. Play while Adjust is open: the volume, the fades and the channel choice are applied as you listen. Nothing is encoded until you click Apply.

Does adjusting an MP3 lose quality?

An MP3 is encoded again when you apply a change, as every edit of an MP3 is. Each further edit encodes it once more; WAV avoids that if you plan several steps.

What is dBFS?

Decibels relative to full scale: 0 dBFS is the loudest a digital file can hold, −6 dBFS is about half of it.
