How rotation works
- Only the orientation changes: A PDF page carries a rotation setting. The tool changes only this setting, so text, images and quality stay exactly as they were.
- The rest of the document stays: Unlike tools that rebuild the file, rotating keeps bookmarks, form fields and links, because the document is saved with only the page rotation changed. This holds as long as pages are only rotated, not also moved or deleted.
- Mixed orientation is fine: Rotate just the pages that need it. A report with a few landscape tables can keep them landscape while the rest stays portrait.
Scripts and passwords
Scripts, forms and links in the PDF are never run, submitted or opened. A PDF that needs a password to open is not supported.
Frequently asked questions
Will the rotation stay when I open the PDF elsewhere?
Yes. The rotation is stored in the file, so every PDF viewer and printer shows the pages the same way.
Can I rotate by any angle, such as 45°?
No. PDF pages can only be rotated in steps of 90°. Straightening a slightly skewed scan needs an image editor or scanning software.
