PDF files up to 100 MB and 500 pages.

PDFs are processed on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and your original is never changed.

What to know about PDF metadata

  • Two places, both shown: A PDF can carry document information (title, author, subject, keywords, the program that made it, dates, and custom entries) and an XMP metadata stream. Only what is present is listed.
  • Removal is checked: Remove deletes both, then opens the new PDF again to check that neither is there and every page is unchanged. No program name or date is written back on save.
  • Content stays: Removing metadata does not remove visible text, comments, form fields or other document content. Metadata of single pages or images inside the PDF is not part of the document metadata and stays.

Scripts and passwords

Scripts, forms and links in the PDF are never run, submitted or opened. A PDF that needs a password to open is not supported.

Frequently asked questions

Does this make the PDF anonymous?

No. It removes the document metadata. A name or other detail can still be in the visible text, in comments, in images or in the content itself.

Why does PDF/A matter here?

A PDF/A file states its conformance in its XMP metadata. Removing the metadata ends that claim, and the tool says so before it runs.

Can I edit the title or author?

Not here. This tool shows the metadata and removes it.
