What you get
- Folders only: Every folder is empty. Several top-level folders are fine; nothing is wrapped in an extra folder.
- ZIP with real folder entries: The ZIP stores each folder as its own entry, so empty folders appear when it is extracted on Windows, macOS or Linux.
- Create on device: In browsers that allow it, the folders are created inside a folder you choose. Existing folders are reused; nothing is deleted, renamed or overwritten.
- Names that work everywhere: Names with / or \, “.” or “..”, or control characters are refused, and two folders in one place cannot differ only in upper and lower case. Names that only Windows refuses get a note.
Frequently asked questions
Is my structure saved?
No. It exists only on this page while it is open. Reloading or closing the page starts empty, so download the ZIP or copy the paths if you want to keep it.
Why is there no Create on device button?
Creating folders directly needs the File System Access API, which Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers have on the desktop. Safari and Firefox do not, so the ZIP is the way there.
Can I add files to the folders?
Not here. To put files into a ZIP, use Create ZIP; it keeps the structure of a folder you add.
