A table, read honestly

  • The delimiter is shown: Commas, semicolons or tabs are detected when every row agrees, and the page says which one it used. When no delimiter fits, it says so and you choose.
  • Quotes and line breaks: Fields in quotes may contain the delimiter, line breaks and doubled quotes, as the CSV rules allow.
  • Large files in steps: The first 200 rows are shown, more on request; counts, conversion and cleaning use every row.
  • Excel exports: A file that is not UTF-8 is read as Windows-1252, as older Excel versions write it, and the page says so.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste rows from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Copied cells arrive as tab-separated rows and are shown as the same table.

Does cleaning change my data?

Only what you tick: empty rows, spaces around cells, missing cells at the end of short rows, rows above the header. The original stays in the input.
