What the YAML keeps
- Types stay types: Numbers, true, false and null stay what they are; large integers keep every digit and 1.0 stays 1.0.
- Quoted where needed: Strings a YAML reader could take for something else, such as "yes", "no", "on", "007" or "1.0", are written in double quotes.
- YAML 1.2: The output follows YAML 1.2, the version most current tools read; keys keep their order.
Frequently asked questions
Why is "no" in quotes?
Older YAML readers turn an unquoted no into false. The quotes keep it the string it was in your JSON.
Can it add comments?
No. JSON has no comments, so there are none to carry over.
